Horror fans have a new date to circle on the calendar as Blumhouse and Atomic Monster gear up for their latest release. As reported by IGN South Africa, the official second trailer for Other Mommy has arrived, showcasing a terrifying cinematic project heading to theaters on October 9, 2026. The film pairs producer James Wan with director Rob Savage, bringing together two creative forces behind some of the most memorable modern horror franchises.
The narrative centers on a young girl named Bela who forms a disturbing bond with a sinister entity mimicking her mother. Jessica Chastain takes on a demanding dual role as both the mother and the supernatural manifestation known as Other Mommy. The cast also features Jay Duplass, Arabella Olivia Clark, Dichen Lachman, Arian Moayed, and Karen Allen, rounding out an impressive ensemble for this dark supernatural thriller.
The project adapts the New York Times bestselling novel Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman, with a screenplay written by Nathan Elston. While video game adaptations often dominate our screens, horror cinema continues to serve as essential watercooler material for communities across streaming platforms and social feeds. This adaptation looks primed to deliver the kind of tense, atmospheric dread that plays exceptionally well in group viewing sessions and creator reaction videos.
