DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has shared a first look at the upcoming Supergirl movie starring Milly Alcock, featuring a brief teaser ahead of a full trailer release this week.
The marketing push for the upcoming DC Universe is kicking into high gear. DC Studios co-chief James Gunn recently shared the first official snippet of footage from the upcoming Supergirl film, giving fans a quick glimpse of Kara Zor-El ahead of the full teaser trailer dropping this week. The reveal follows right on the heels of the costume's debut at CCXP 2025 in São Paulo, which already had comic and film communities buzzing across social media platforms.
In the short clip reported by IGN South Africa, House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock brings a distinctly world-weary energy to the iconic hero. Sporting sunglasses and dealing with some heavy wind, Kara is shown waiting near what looks suspiciously like an intergalactic bus stop before a spacecraft touches down. It is a far cry from the classic, wide-eyed hero introduction, leaning instead into a grittier, slightly cynical vibe that hints at a much different take on Kryptonian mythology.
For players and fans who track how comic book properties translate into multimedia universes, this new look sets an intriguing tone for the broader cinematic slate. As the lines between gaming, film, and streaming continue to blur for modern entertainment ecosystems, how DC handles its character adaptations matters to a community that expects high-tier world-building across all screens. Keep your feeds refreshed because the full teaser is landing very soon.
