Invincible VS Roster Reveal: Kirkman Promises a Superhero Bloodbath of Epic Proportions!

Robert Kirkman is teasing a ridiculously large roster for the upcoming *Invincible VS* fighting game, promising a bloodbath of characters from the series, which sounds fair dinkum awesome.

Right, so Robert Kirkman, the bloke behind Invincible, has been flapping his gums about the roster for *Invincible VS*, the upcoming 3v3 fighter. And mate, it sounds like he's trying to pack the game with more heroes and villains than a comic book convention. According to Game Rant, Kirkman reckons that if you're wondering whether a particular character will make the cut, there's a "99% chance they’re going to be in the game." Crikey, that's a lot of spandex!

Now, *Invincible VS* first popped up as a crowdfunding project back in '24, aiming to deliver a proper AAA fighting game – and fair dinkum, it smashed its target. We're talking about a game promising a "high-octane blood bath", which, let's be honest, is exactly what we want from an *Invincible* title. It was properly unveiled at the Xbox Summer Showcase in '25, showing off Omni-Man, Atom Eve, and the rest. More recently, Battle Beast got a spotlight at San Diego Comic-Con.

Kirkman told IGN at SDCC that the roster is going to be "absolutely insane.” But what does "insane" even mean in this context? Is it going to be *Marvel vs. Capcom* levels of bonkers? Or something a bit more focused? It's hard to say, but I'm leaning toward the former.

He was pretty chuffed about Battle Beast being revealed, saying you simply "can’t do an Invincible fighting game without Battle Beast." And he hinted that there are other characters like that – essential fighters who are practically guaranteed to show up. Sounds like we might be getting a who's-who of Invincible's most brutal brawlers. Of course, cramming that many characters into a fighting game can be a bit of a balancing nightmare. Here's hoping they get it right.

(Also I wonder - could this open the door for indie devs to put their fighters in the game as well? Imagine seeing someone like The Behemoth in there!)

As for when we can expect *Invincible VS*, Kirkman only teased “sooner than you may think,” even though it's slated for 2026. Early 2026, then? Could be a nice way to kick off the year with some good old-fashioned superhero smackdowns. Either way, with such a massive roster in the works, it looks like *Invincible VS* is shaping up to be something properly special. I guess we just have to wait and see if it lives up to the hype. I reckon it's worth keeping an eye on, eh?
