Insomniac Games has released a hotfix for Marvel's Wolverine to reduce the visibility of its mocked blue scent trails, with plans to add a complete toggle in a future update.
Marvel's Wolverine is getting some much needed adjustments following its recent launch. Insomniac Games has dropped a surprise hotfix addressing one of the most mocked features in the game, specifically the bright blue scent trails used for tracking objectives and finding collectibles. Thanks to some merciless teasing across social media and creator channels where players dubbed the mechanic 'fart gas', the new patch dials back the opacity of the visual trails and tones down the audio sense indicators.
While the current version simply reduces how distracting the mechanic feels on screen, Insomniac notes in its official update blog that it is actively evaluating ways to improve the sensory features further. The studio is exploring a full toggle option in a future patch to let players switch the tracking lines off entirely. Alongside the visual tweaks, the patch also tackles stability fixes for a small percentage of players experiencing crashes.
Despite a mixed critical reception pointing toward a more traditional game design framework, early market estimates reported by Eurogamer suggest the title has pulled in roughly 1.39 million copies sold and 130 million dollars in revenue so far. Physical sales dipped to 22.9 percent compared to Spider-Man 2, which continues a broader industry shift toward digital storefronts and instant downloads. As the team works on upcoming quality of life improvements, players hunting down collectibles can still rely on community guides to navigate Logan's latest adventure.
