Insomniac Games revealed a free crossover suit for Marvel's Wolverine tied to Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, alongside a new story trailer featuring Lady Deathstrike, The Hand, and a September 15 release date.
Insomniac Games is ramping up the excitement for one of the year's biggest releases, dropping a fresh look at Marvel's Wolverine during San Diego Comic-Con. Alongside a brand-new story trailer that highlights a brutal showdown against The Hand and confirms Lady Deathstrike as a major antagonist, the studio revealed a unique day one cosmetic. Through a crossover with the upcoming Arc System Works fighter Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, players will get a fresh take on Logan's classic blue and yellow X-Men look.
What makes this reveal refreshing in the current era of monetization is how Insomniac is handling the distribution. While plenty of modern releases lock bonus cosmetics behind expensive pre-order tiers or battle passes, this crossover outfit will be completely free for all players and unlocked naturally through gameplay. In a neat cross-promotional trade, Marvel's Wolverine will also be sharing its base Battle Reborn suit with Tokon: Fighting Souls when that game drops its update on September 1.
The September 15 release date is closing in fast, and the latest media blitz is painting a clearer picture of what to expect from the campaign. Team X dynamics, a high-octane pursuit through Tokyo, and even a menacing cameo by a Sentinel and Bolivar Trask show that Insomniac is leaning heavily into deep comic lore. For players tracking the heavy-hitting console lineup of 2026, this latest update solidifies Wolverine as a must-watch title for both action fans and Marvel diehards.
