Insomniac Games clarified that a sword-wielding villain in the latest Marvel's Wolverine trailer is Lady Deathstrike, putting an end to fan theories about Psylocke.
The recent launch trailer for Marvel's Wolverine on PlayStation 5 generated unexpected community chatter across YouTube, X, and Instagram. Eagle-eyed fans spotted a villain wielding a glowing purple energy sword and immediately flooded social media with theories that the character was actually Psylocke making a surprise appearance.
Insomniac Games quickly stepped in to clear up the confusion with a direct social media post confirming the character is actually Lady Deathstrike. While the studio's take on Lady Deathstrike features a stylized redesign that includes the signature energy blade, her distinctive hair, vest, and trademark finger claws leave little room for doubt once you look past the weapon.
This is not the first time Lady Deathstrike has appeared in promotional material for the upcoming game, as she previously popped up in July's trailer and studio teaser clips. Even though heavy hitters like Jean Grey and Sabretooth are confirmed for the roster, players should expect to cross paths with Lady Deathstrike when the game launches on September 15, 2026.
