Innersloth Expands the Universe With Among Us Story: On Guard

Innersloth has announced Among Us Story: On Guard, a brand new single-player game set in the Among Us universe where players control a trainee Guard trying to expose an Impostor.
Innersloth is taking its massive social deduction franchise in an unexpected direction. During Summer Game Fest, the studio officially revealed Among Us Story: On Guard, marking the first single player experience in the history of the series. Instead of jumping straight into a traditional sequel, the team is shifting focus to a narrative driven spin off. Players will step into the shoes of a Guard within the Crewmate training program. When an Impostor starts eliminating the crew, you have to complete classic tasks while building a case to prove your own innocence and identify the killer before it is too late.
This release represents the first major addition to the franchise since the 2022 launch of Among Us VR, and it arrives alongside some other big news for the IP. Innersloth also surprise released the long awaited Among Us animated TV adaptation on Paramount+ following years of development. The original game remains one of the greatest indie success stories in history, exploding into a cultural phenomenon in 2020 thanks to content creators and streaming culture after launching quietly two years prior. By leaning into a refined 2D art style and a solo format, the developer is proving that the universe has room to grow beyond multiplayer lobbies.
For players who spent countless hours arguing in Discord calls or watching their favorite Twitch streamers hunt for Impostors, this solo outing offers a fresh way to engage with a familiar world. Story: On Guard is currently scheduled to launch on Steam, bringing a narrative twist to the iconic colorful crewmates we all know. You can read the original coverage over at Game Rant.
