IGN and New Rockstars teamed up at IGN Live 2026 for a live podcast debate, pitting creators against each other to draft the ultimate Avengers roster for upcoming Marvel films.
The road to Marvel's next massive cinematic events is officially driving some serious community debate. During a recent stage appearance at IGN Live 2026, the team from New Rockstars stopped by for a live episode of their Road to Doomsday podcast to tackle the ultimate geek culture hypothetical. The panel faced off in a classic draft format to assemble their definitive dream teams for the upcoming Avengers films, sparking plenty of conversation across the venue and social channels alike.
The debate forced creators and fans to rethink traditional comic book hierarchies. Discussions ranged from who actually makes the best tactical leader between Tony Stark and Cyclops to the heavy hitters needed for pure muscle, weighing options like The Hulk against The Thing. Panelists also debated which iconic hero should step up for the ultimate sacrificial play, and which character might threaten to steal the spotlight entirely by taking up a bit too much screen time.
More than just a fun stage show, panels like these highlight how much fan communities drive the conversation around modern franchise storytelling. These interactive debates give audiences a chance to shape the narrative long before the tickets go on sale. You can check out the full breakdown of the debate and see how the live audience voted over at IGN South Africa.
