IDW is expanding the A Quiet Place franchise with a new comic miniseries titled Rising Tides, shifting the sound-sensitive monster horror to the open waters of the Florida Keys.
IDW Dark is adding a fresh chapter to its horror lineup just in time for the spooky season. According to IGN, the publisher is launching A Quiet Place: Rising Tides, a brand new comic miniseries set in the acclaimed film universe. Written by Declan Shalvey with art by Luke Sparrow and Colin Craker, the book tells a standalone story that does not require any prior homework from the movies or previous comic runs.
The narrative shifts the survival horror to the open water of the Florida Keys. A young woman named Grace tracks her estranged father to a houseboat right as the alien invasion hits. They find temporary safety from the sound hunting creatures on the ocean, but quickly face a shrinking oxygen supply, dwindling resources, and an incoming hurricane.
This comic expansion arrives as the franchise continues to branch out across different entertainment mediums. Fans recently received a single player adaptation with A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, and a third film is currently slated for a July 2027 release. For anyone looking to dive into the comic side of the apocalypse, issue one drops on November 18 with final preorders closing on October 12.
