Hytale's second early access update arrives this weekend, introducing necromancy minion summons, a snake accessibility mode, mining speed scaling, and prep for advanced modding tools.
Hypixel is dropping the second post-release update for Hytale this weekend, bringing a heavy mix of new combat mechanics and quality-of-life adjustments to the early access sandbox. According to patch details shared by studio head Simon Collins-Laflamme via Rock Paper Shotgun, the update introduces a brand new necromancy system. Players can now track down a grimoire from a skeleton praetorian to summon up to five skeletal minions in battle. Alongside the undead backup, fighters will notice buffs to both skeletons and polar bears, while builders benefit from mining speeds that finally scale with pickaxe quality.
The update also focuses heavily on customization and accessibility. Players can now toggle armor slot visibility, slap on new mask face accessories, and choose from fresh character mouth variants including vampire, cute, and orc options. For those who struggle with reptilian enemies, Hypixel has thoughtfully included an optional ophidiophobia accessibility mode to make snakes less intimidating. Under the hood, the team is preparing version two of their world generator for public documentation to aid modders, alongside a major ore placement refactor across all zones.
Looking ahead, Hypixel is already planning a third update with a longer pre-release window to give community server hosts and modders plenty of time to adapt. For players diving in right now, whether you are testing out the faster rail karts, tweaking your new cape animations, or setting up a dedicated server, this second patch shows the development team is moving quickly to flesh out the sandbox experience.
