HoYoverse has announced Petit Planet, an Animal Crossing-inspired life simulation game coming to PC and mobile in Winter 2026.
HoYoverse is expanding its massive portfolio far beyond action RPGs with Petit Planet, a laid-back life simulation game scheduled to release in Winter 2026 for PC and mobile platforms. Originally reported by Game Rant, the game casts players as employees of Loomi Co who are sent to develop and decorate their own planets, build homes and farms, and befriend local villagers. Alongside single-player island crafting, players will be able to travel across the Starsea to visit friends on other worlds.
The studio is ramping up excitement with tiered pre-registration rewards, offering everything from in-game currency bonuses and fireworks to a custom Sproutling Outfit if the community clears the ten million milestone. This cozy pivot joins a busy production pipeline for HoYoverse, which also includes upcoming titles like the dark co-op game Nodusfall and the creature-collecting spin-off Honkai: Nexus Anima, proving the developer wants a piece of every major genre.
Life sims have seen a massive resurgence across console, PC, and mobile as players lean into games that double as social hangouts and low-stress digital spaces. While Animal Crossing set the gold standard with New Horizons moving over 50 million units on Switch, competitors like Disney Dreamlight Valley and Hello Kitty Island Adventure have proven there is endless appetite for relaxing multiplayer economies. If HoYoverse can translate its live-service expertise into a cozy social sandbox, Petit Planet could easily become the next big hangout spot for the community.
