How to Conquer Marathon and Unlock the Traxus Faction

A breakdown of Marathon's challenging Introducing Traxus priority contract, detailing how to clear the multi-step single-match quest and unlock the faction.

Bungie's extraction shooter Marathon is putting player skills to the test with its early game progression, and the Introducing Traxus priority contract is proving to be a major roadblock. As reported by Ford James at Polygon, this specific quest is mandatory if you want to unlock access to the Traxus faction. The catch is that the entire contract requires you to complete three distinct objectives in a single live match. If you fall in combat at any point before exfil, you have to reset and start the whole process over from square one.

The challenge kicks off by finding a terminal in one of three zones, with the northwest corner of the Intersection area emerging as the most reliable drop point. Interacting with this blue terminal triggers a wave of UESC reinforcements, including a heavily armored Commander with purple shields. Solo players in particular need to bring their best tactical loadouts here, as using mobility classes and stealth abilities is almost essential to survive the crossfire while chipping down the elite enemy's health pool. Taking out the Commander drops the necessary UESC shipping manifest, assuming you avoid the occasional drop bug reported during recent server tests.

Once the manifest is secured, you still need to sprint to a nearby white shipping container and scan it within a strict three minute window. Clearing out remaining AI units before you start the interaction bar is vital to avoid getting ambushed mid-scan. Once that final objective pings as complete, your only remaining task is surviving the map and making it to an extraction point.
