Hori Reveals Modular Arcade Controller Built for Switch 2 and PC

Hori has revealed the Arcade Classic Pro, a modular arcade stick with swappable components that supports Nintendo Switch consoles and Windows 11 PCs.

Long-time hardware partner Hori has officially unveiled a heavily customizable arcade stick designed to bridge the gap between classic cabinet controls and modern platforms. According to GameRant, the newly announced Arcade Classic Pro is built for both the original Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, while also offering wired compatibility with Windows 11 PCs. Rather than sticking to a fixed layout, the device features four swappable modules including a standard stick, a trackball, a paddle, and a loop lever, allowing players to completely rearrange their physical setup.

Beyond its modular layout, the controller leans hard into retro utility with built-in mapping options and a dedicated rapid fire function. Players can toggle between standard holding modes or fully automated fire rates ranging from five to twenty shots per second, making it a natural fit for classic shoot em ups and arcade ports. The hardware does come with a few notable trade-offs, requiring a wired USB-A connection and omitting modern creature comforts like gyro sensors and built-in rumble.

Pre-orders are currently live exclusively in Japan through early October, with a scheduled launch date of February 28, 2027, carrying a price tag of roughly 258 dollars. Hori has not yet detailed international release plans or Western pricing, but given the company's track record for global distribution, a wider rollout seems likely. For players looking to tackle retro libraries across console and PC with authentic arcade hardware, this customizable stick offers a compelling new option.
