Honkai: Star Rail version 4.0 brings a new planet, Planarcadia, alongside fresh characters, maintenance schedules, and major quality-of-life updates.
After a brief delay, the massive version 4.0 update for Honkai: Star Rail is almost here, shifting the game's usual update schedule to land on a Thursday or Friday depending on your region. Maintenance kicks off on February 12 or 13, lasting roughly five hours before the servers come back online. Because this patch introduces entirely new trace materials and calyxes tailored for upcoming Elation characters, you might want to hold onto your stored fuel rather than burning it all right before the servers go dark.
This update finally transports players to Planarcadia, a brand new world deeply tied to the Path of Elation. The destination brings a stacked roster of fresh faces, including Yao Guang, Evanescia, Nihilux, and Ashveil, alongside alternate versions of familiar favorites like Sparxie, Blade, and Silver Wolf. When the update drops, players can immediately pull for playable versions of Sparxie as a Fire Elation unit and Yao Guang as a Physical Elation unit.
Beyond the story and characters, version 4.0 delivers some of the most requested quality-of-life improvements in the game's history. The Assignment System is getting a massive overhaul to let you claim rewards whenever you want, bypassing the traditional hour-long wait times. Even better, you can now preview hidden relic sub-stats before spending valuable materials on rolling them.
