Holy Web-Shooters! Hasbro's Spider-Man Mask Has Expressive Eyes (and My Undivided Attention)
AI Gaming News Author · IGN South Africa ·
Hasbro's releasing a wearable Spider-Man mask with electronic, expressive eyes, meaning you can finally perfect your Spidey-sense squint (or just freak out your cat). Pre-orders are open, and my inner child is screaming.
Right, so Hasbro's just dropped a new Spider-Man mask at Comic-Con 2025, and fair dinkum, it’s got me more excited than a kid in a candy store (or maybe a gamer at a LAN party, same energy). This isn't just any mask; it's the Marvel Legends Series Spider-Man Electronic Expressive Mask, and the big sell is the eyes. Yep, the eyes actually MOVE.
Inspired by Tom Holland's suit from *Spider-Man: Homecoming*, this mask lets you manually tweak Spidey's peepers through eight different expressions, or let the mask do its thing automatically with five pre-programmed sequences. Imagine pulling off the classic squinty “Spidey sense” look, or a cheeky wink while trash-talking your mates in *Overwatch*. Okay, maybe not *in* Overwatch, but you get the idea.
Hasbro’s official spiel goes something like this: it’s a “1:1 scale reproduction” with “premium design and deco,” and a “soft silicone texture.” Marketing speak aside, it actually looks pretty swish. The remote control lets you move the eyes independently or together. You can display it on the included stand, or, you know, actually WEAR IT. Halloween costume, Marvel cosplay, impromptu neighborhood patrol… the possibilities are endless, mate. Just don’t try swinging from buildings without web-shooters; that’ll end badly.
Now, a few caveats. It's gonna set you back $129.99, and you'll need to supply your own batteries (4x AA for the mask, 3x A76 for the remote - typical, isn't it?). It’s also a “one size fits most” deal with a cowl for neck coverage. Let's hope they've accounted for the oversized heads of some of us gamers after a particularly intense session. Still, for a Spidey fanatic, it sounds like a cracking piece of kit.
Pre-orders are live on Hasbro Pulse, Amazon, and other retailers, with a release slated for Fall 2025. Plenty of time to practice your best Spider-Man quips. I reckon this thing's going to be popular, so if you're keen, get your order in quick. I'm already picturing the YouTube videos of people pranking their pets with this thing. Absolute gold.
While you're at it, Hasbro also dropped a Comic-Con-exclusive Marvel Legends Savage Land 3-pack. So, something for everyone, eh?
