Hold Your Horses, Pilgrims! 'Dying Light: The Beast' Needs a Little More Bite

Techland's pushed back the release of 'Dying Light: The Beast' to September 19th for extra polish, but Ultimate Edition owners of 'Dying Light 2' are getting it for free, which softens the blow quite nicely, wouldn't you say?

Right, listen up, fellow zombie slayers! Techland's just dropped a bit of a bombshell: 'Dying Light: The Beast' isn't shambling onto our screens on August 22nd anymore. Nope, it's been pushed back to September 19th. Bummer, I know. (Huge shoutout to the good folks at Game Rant for keeping us in the loop on this one, by the way.)

Now, before you start sharpening your machetes in frustration, there's a silver lining. Techland reckon they need a bit more time to polish the game to a gleam. And when they say polish, they mean *polish*. They're talking finetuning gameplay balance, making the UI crystal clear, buffing up the physics (always a good shout when you're throwing zombies off rooftops, eh?), and generally sprucing up the cutscenes and animations.

Apparently, the delay stems from the overwhelmingly positive response they've had from early previews. The devs are positively blushing, and say all the lovely feedback made them realise they're onto something special. So, instead of rushing it out the door half-baked, they're taking the extra time to make it the absolute best 'Dying Light' experience possible. Which, fair play, is what we all want, isn't it?

'The Beast' started life as a DLC for 'Dying Light 2', but it morphed into something far grander when they decided to bring back Kyle Crane, the protagonist from the original. Techland's even treating it like a proper 'Dying Light 3', which is pretty darn exciting.

Here's the really good news for some of you: If you happen to own the Ultimate Edition of 'Dying Light 2' (which has now been delisted, mind you), you're getting 'The Beast' *for free*. Techland are honouring their original promise of including all DLC in that edition. That's a seriously decent move, and you've got to respect them for it.

So, yeah, it's a delay. Nobody likes a delay. But if it means a better, more polished, more zombie-smashingly awesome game, I reckon we can all handle waiting a few extra weeks. Plus, free stuff for some? Not bad, eh?
