Hitman: World of Assassination Finally Adds Cross-Progression Across All Platforms

Hitman: World of Assassination is adding full cross-progression on February 3, letting players share saves between PC, consoles, and the Nintendo Switch 2.

IO Interactive is finally bringing full cross-progression support to Hitman: World of Assassination, letting players carry their progress seamlessly between devices. According to a detailed report by Fran Ruiz at Eurogamer, the long-awaited feature goes live on February 3, allowing players to jump from a PC session to a PlayStation 5 or take their stealth runs on the go with the Nintendo Switch 2. Alongside the update, IO Interactive is refreshing the browser and mobile experience for IOI Accounts to streamline how players manage their linked profiles.

While the update is a massive win for multi-platform players, there are a few important guardrails to keep in mind. Players will need to designate a primary platform upon logging in, and any game licenses or downloadable content purchases remain tied to their respective storefronts. This means you still need to own the relevant content on each system to access your unlocks there. Additionally, the older Hitman 2 to 3 carryover process is officially shutting down on February 3, locking all future progression squarely into the World of Assassination ecosystem.

This update arrives at a busy time for IO Interactive, as the studio celebrates the five-year milestone for Hitman 3 while ramping up toward the May launch of 007 First Light. IO Interactive has historically tied progression to some complex account mechanics, so simplifying the ecosystem now makes complete sense as the studio expands its footprint. Whether you are replaying classic sandbox levels on a handheld or setting up elaborate kills on a high-end rig, your assassination data is finally going wherever you do.
