Hideo Kojima shared new casting and development updates for his upcoming espionage game Physint, confirming that filming begins next year with scanned actors like Bill Skarsgard.
Game director Hideo Kojima has shared new details regarding Physint, his upcoming action espionage title that serves as a spiritual successor to Metal Gear Solid. During a recent episode of his Koji10 podcast, reported by IGN South Africa via community translator Genki JPN, Kojima discussed the status of the project, which marks his fortieth anniversary in the industry. He noted that the game will return to the roots of his earlier stealth classics while introducing fresh interactive concepts.
The production is moving forward steadily with casting and pre production. Kojima personally pitched the roles to the actors involved, and he mentioned that about seventy percent of the cast are already fans of his work. Filming is scheduled to begin next year, with digital scans already completed for actors Bill Skarsgard, Charlie Fraser, and Minami Hamabe.
Physint remains a long term project, with Kojima previously estimating it is five to six years away from release. Microsoft stepped in to publish the game after Sony reportedly considered passing on it, and it will follow the release of Kojima's other upcoming title, the horror experience OD. For players following the director's ambitious slate, Physint is shaping up to be a major cross platform event that bridges cinematic storytelling with high end interactive stealth.
