Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era Details Early Access Roadmap Following Strong Launch

Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era has surpassed one million copies sold in its first month, prompting publisher Hooded Horse and developer Unfrozen Studio to release a comprehensive early access roadmap featuring co-op modes, map generators, and campaign expansions.

Publisher Hooded Horse and developer Unfrozen Studio are celebrating a major milestone for Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era. According to a report by Fran Ruiz at Eurogamer, the strategic revival has cleared one million copies sold in its first month on PC. That number is especially notable since the game launched into early access on April 30 and arrived on PC Game Pass on day one. With a massive player base already diving into the nostalgia fueled strategy experience, the team has revealed a detailed roadmap outlining what is next for the title.

The development schedule is split into four distinct stages leading up to the eventual 1.0 launch. The first two stages, planned for the second half of 2026, will focus heavily on community feedback. Players can expect the addition of a Teamplay co-op mode against AI opponents, a significantly improved random map generator, a comprehensive rebalance of hero skills and epic classes, and advanced matchmaking options for online play.

Looking further ahead into Stage 3 and the eventual full release, Unfrozen plans to reintroduce classic series staples like the Underground map layer and the Thieves' Guild. The final version will also deliver the second and third acts of the campaign, an unannounced PvE roguelike mode, and custom map sharing features. For a deep strategy game relying on community longevity and shared tactical experiences, a transparent early access roadmap is the best way to keep players engaged for the long haul.
