Grounded 2 is officially coming to PlayStation 5, alongside a major new content update titled Into The Abyss arriving across all platforms on August 11.
Obsidian Entertainment is expanding the backyard survival experience. Grounded 2 is officially heading to PlayStation 5, bringing its miniature yet massive multiplayer survival loop to a brand-new console community. The announcement dropped during the recent IGN Summer of Gaming showcase, confirming that the sequel is making its way to Sony's current-generation hardware.
Alongside the platform expansion, the development team revealed the upcoming Into The Abyss update. This major content drop is scheduled to arrive across all supported platforms on August 11, bringing fresh challenges, deeper exploration, and likely a fresh wave of terrifying arthropods to avoid with your squad.
For a game built entirely around social coordination and shared survival panic, opening up the player base across more platforms is a major win for the community. Whether you are playing on PC, console, or cloud, cross-platform adventures are becoming the baseline expectation for cooperative hits.
