Polyphony Digital announced a massive two-part Spec IV update for Gran Turismo 7 during the latest State of Play, featuring the return of the classic Autumn Ring track, the debut of Sportsland Sugo, and a dozen new cars.
Polyphony Digital just dropped a massive roadmap for Gran Turismo 7 during the latest PlayStation State of Play showcase. The upcoming Spec IV update rolls out in two major waves, bringing fresh content that spans real-world motorsport additions and nostalgic fan favorites. The first half arrives in October, introducing the real-life Sportsland Sugo circuit alongside six new cars, a concierge feature for tracking down rare used vehicles, and a much-needed collector level cap increase.
The second wave lands in December and delivers the main event for longtime fans, which is the return of the classic Autumn Ring track. Last seen in Gran Turismo 6 back in 2013, this iconic circuit features its original layout alongside an expanded new path. December also brings another six vehicles, a beginner-friendly family mode, online drift trials, and a chaotic new shuffle race mode that hands players random cars for unpredictable lobbies.
IGN South Africa reported that this massive content drop was part of a packed State of Play broadcast that also teased major updates for Final Fantasy VII Revelation and fresh hardware reveals. For a live service game that continues to anchor the console racing scene, this two-part update shows that Polyphony is still finding ways to balance classic track nostalgia with new quality of life features for its community.
