PC users can currently claim the indie horror game Express No. 6 for free on itch.io for a limited time before the promotion ends on October 3.
PC players looking for a quick and eerie experience can currently grab the indie horror title Express No. 6 entirely free of charge. Originally released in 2025, the game normally sits at a modest five-dollar price tag, but the developers have dropped the cost to zero for a very limited window on itch.io. Over on Steam, where the game has earned a solidly positive reception, players have praised its unique blend of holiday atmosphere and tension.
Set aboard a train during Christmas, Express No. 6 leans heavily into atmospheric horror walking simulator tropes while adding a night-vision camcorder mechanic that fans of the Outlast series will instantly recognize. Each playthrough runs between thirty minutes and an hour, making it an ideal bite-sized spooky session for a weeknight. It also stands out by featuring fully human-voiced performances for the protagonist and supporting cast rather than relying on automated tools.
To add the game to your permanent library, head over to itch.io and claim it before the promotion wraps up on October 3. It is a great way to kick off the October horror season without spending a dime, especially for players who enjoy supporting smaller indie developers carving out unique narrative spaces on PC.
