Radical Forge details Golf With Your Friends 2, featuring a dynamic Chaos mode, randomized course modifiers, and updated multiplayer tools designed to test player patience and friendships.
As reported by James Archer over at Rock Paper Shotgun, developer Radical Forge is officially taking the reins for the sequel to the multiplayer mini-golf phenomenon. The original game became a staple of voice chat lobbies and streaming sessions during lockdown, offering a digital space for casual betrayal on cartoon greens. Now, the sequel is skipping early access entirely and launching with a focus on wild mechanical shifts designed to keep groups guessing. Instead of relying on static layouts that veterans could memorize, the new Chaos mode injects randomized modifiers into every round, from speed pads and pinball bumpers to laser-shooting UFOs.
The sequel is trading traditional green courses for much more aggressive settings right out of the gate. The opening beachside stage features skateboarding crabs acting as mobile hazards and grind rails complete with balance meters, while space levels lean into zero gravity and ramp physics. According to lead designer Annie Grudeva, individual holes can generate thousands of distinct layout permutations, ensuring that familiar strategies will rarely work twice. Classic alternative modes like Dunk and Hockey are also returning with updated mechanics, giving creator-minded groups plenty of new toys to experiment with alongside an upgraded, accessible level editor.
For a game built entirely around streaming laughs and late-night voice channel arguments, replayability is everything. Radical Forge CEO Bruce Slater noted that once players mastered the static holes of the first game, the novelty wore off too quickly. By shifting toward procedural unpredictability and robust community tools, the developers are aiming to sustain a long-term multiplayer ecosystem. It is a smart pivot for a title that thrives on user-generated content and creator discovery, setting up another round of ruined friendships when the game officially launches.
