God of War Spinoff Sons of Sparta Bypasses End-Game Lock with Classic Cheat Code

PlayStation has added a classic cheat code to bypass the end-game requirement for the cooperative challenge mode in God of War Sons of Sparta.
Sony has finally addressed the confusion surrounding the cooperative features in the recent side-scrolling spinoff God of War Sons of Sparta. When the game launched for PlayStation 5 earlier this month, the PlayStation Store listing promised two-player capabilities. Fans quickly discovered that the cooperative roguelike challenge mode, known as The Pit, was locked behind completing the main campaign. According to PlayStation, this restriction was intended to ensure players mastered Kratos' arsenal before tackling the difficult encounters.
Now, players can bypass that requirement entirely by using a legendary gaming shortcut. PlayStation revealed a specific button sequence that unlocks The Pit straight from the starting menu. By entering the classic sequence of Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, L1, R1, and the Touchpad, eager players can jump directly into the multiplayer action without grinding through the story first. The Pit offers randomized enemy encounters and rewards, complete with unique Agony modifiers and permanent upgrades for future runs.
The discovery comes during a mixed reception for the spinoff title. While franchise creator David Jaffe urged fans to skip the release entirely, other critics offered a more moderate view. IGN South Africa originally reported on the cheat code discovery in their detailed coverage, rating the side-scrolling metroidvania experience a six out of ten for failing to match the genre's highest standards. For those already playing, the new cheat code offers an instant path to testing their skills in co-op.
