Ghost of Yōtei Prepares for New Game Plus and Fresh Cosmetics Next Week

Ghost of Yōtei is getting a free update on November 24 featuring New Game Plus, post-game mission replayability, new cosmetic items purchased with Ghost Flowers, and expanded accessibility options, as reported by Polygon.

Sucker Punch Productions is giving players a solid reason to return to the rugged landscapes of Ezo. According to a report by Austin Manchester at Polygon, Ghost of Yōtei is receiving a free patch on November 24 that introduces a fully fledged New Game Plus mode. Players will be able to dive back into the open world carrying all previously unlocked weapons, armor, and abilities, alongside a brand new tier of upgrades and stiffer difficulty options for those looking for a real challenge.

The update also addresses one of the most requested features from the community by adding post-game mission replayability complete with stat tracking. For the fashion-forward samurai, the patch introduces Ghost Flowers, a dedicated new currency that can be traded with a vendor for over thirty cosmetics. This includes fresh armor sets, weapon dyes, charms, and detailed sword kits. Additionally, Sucker Punch is rolling out new accessibility features like directional button remapping and expanded Photo Mode tools.

Ghost of Yōtei has been a massive commercial success since its October launch on PlayStation 5, clearing three million sales in its first month and landing eight nominations at The Game Awards. For players who already completed Atsu's journey, this upcoming patch offers a great excuse to fire the game back up, share standout screenshots on social feeds, and test out the higher difficulty tiers.
