Ghost of Yotei's Lengthy Quest: More Samurai Shenanigans Than You Can Shake a Katana At

Sucker Punch's *Ghost of Yotei* promises a campaign length similar to *Ghost of Tsushima*, with completionists looking at around 60 hours of samurai action, weapon-based combat changes, and limited-edition console goodies.

Right, so Sucker Punch's upcoming *Ghost of Yotei* is shaping up to be a proper time sink, and I reckon that's a good thing, yeah? According to a recent chinwag with VGC, Creative Director Jason Connell let slip that the main campaign will clock in at around 25 hours – about the same as its predecessor, *Ghost of Tsushima*. Which, let's be honest, was no walk in the park, unless that park involved a whole load of sword fights and brooding on windswept cliffs.

Now, 25 hours for the main story is all well and good, but Connell also mentioned that completionists (you know who you are!) can expect to be hacking and slashing their way through Hokkaido for a solid 60 hours. Sixty! That's enough time to learn a new language, bake approximately 74 sourdough loaves, or, you know, become a digital samurai master.

*Ghost of Tsushima* was a massive hit, bagging awards left, right, and centre, and even inspiring a film and anime adaptation. So, naturally, the hype for *Yotei* is pretty bloody high. Former PlayStation big cheese Shuhei Yoshida even reckons it's *better* than *Tsushima*. Bold claims, mate, bold claims.

The game plonks us in the snowy boots of Atsu, a ronin with a serious score to settle. Her family's been wiped out, her home destroyed – the usual Tuesday for a samurai, really. But this time, it's personal! She's out for revenge, and she's bringing a whole arsenal of pointy things with her.

Speaking of pointy things, *Yotei* is shaking up the combat system. Forget stances; Atsu can now wield *five* different weapons, each with its own unique purpose. Fancy tossing enemies into the air with a spear? Go for it! Want to disarm them in the heat of battle? Give it a crack (though it sounds a bit risky, eh?).

For those who fancy pimping their PS5, there are also limited-edition console bundles coming, complete with fancy artwork and a matching DualSense controller. Bling! If you already have a PS5, you can snag some console covers in black and gold. Because who *doesn't* need a gold-plated samurai console?

So, there you have it. *Ghost of Yotei* is looking like a hefty, action-packed adventure with enough content to keep even the most dedicated gamer busy for weeks. Will it live up to the hype? Only time will tell. But if it's anything like *Tsushima*, we're in for a wild ride.
