Ghost of Yotei is getting a Complete Edition featuring a narrative expansion, a new roguelike mode, and several quality-of-life updates arriving on October 1.
Sucker Punch Productions is marking the one-year anniversary of Ghost of Yotei with a comprehensive new package for players. According to a report by Willa Rowe on Polygon, the open-world hit is receiving a Complete Edition on October 1, bringing substantial new content to the table for both returning fans and newcomers.
The standout addition is a narrative expansion titled Echoes of Sekigahara. The new story divides its focus between the game's present day and flashback sequences detailing protagonist Atsu's experiences during the Battle of Sekigahara on the mainland. Players will venture into a fresh, unexplored valley alongside a new character named Nagato to confront remnants of The Snake and his followers. Along with the story content, the expansion introduces fresh enemy types, heavy weapons, armor sets, and cosmetic dyes.
For players looking for repeatable endgame content, Sucker Punch is introducing a roguelike mode called Most Wanted. This mode tasks players with accepting bounties to launch runs where taking down enemies unlocks helpful perks and additional playable characters. Each character is tied to a specific weapon class, letting players choose between Atsu with her dual katanas, Oyuki wielding the kusarigama, and Nagato equipped with the yari.
The Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition will be priced at $69.99 and includes all previous Digital Deluxe Edition bonuses alongside the Charm of Hokkyokusei. Early buyers who pick up the package before September 30 will also secure the iconic Sakai Armor inspired by Ghost of Tsushima. Existing owners of the base game will not be left out, as a $14.99 upgrade path will unlock the new expansion and roguelike mode.
Alongside the paid content, Sucker Punch is pushing out a free update for all base game owners on October 1. This patch introduces the Beauty of Yotei photography mode, transmog functionality allowing players to separate armor appearance from stats, and a new high contrast accessibility setting.
