GGMods has officially launched alongside its month-long Spring Madness 2026 Modathon, offering cash prizes and rewards to support and incentivize game modders.
Modders have long been the invisible backbone of the gaming ecosystem, keeping titles like Skyrim and Fallout relevant years after developers have moved on. Passion drives the scene, but turning that passion into sustainable work has always been an uphill battle for creators. Enter GGMods, a new platform officially launched on April 13 that aims to change the financial reality for modders by introducing direct monetary benefits for their work.
To celebrate the launch, the platform kicked off its month-long Spring Madness 2026 Modathon, which runs from April 13 through May 11. The event challenges creators to build and share new mods, with substantial rewards lined up for the most downloaded submissions. Judges will also award weekly prizes for the most thematic mods across participating games, giving creators plenty of incentive to showcase their technical skills and creative visions.
As digital ownership, creator economies, and user-generated content continue to shape how we play across PC and console, supporting the modding community is more vital than ever. Platforms that offer real financial backing help ensure that the people keeping our favorite sandbox and RPG titles alive can keep pushing the craft forward.
