The Folio Society is releasing a luxurious 30th-anniversary hardcover edition of George R. R. Martin's A Game of Thrones, priced at a staggering $2,200.
For anyone who has followed Westeros through every delayed chapter and adaptation over the last three decades, the fantasy epic's staying power is undeniable. To mark the 30th anniversary of George R. R. Martin's seminal work, The Folio Society has revealed a luxurious new hardcover edition of A Game of Thrones. According to IGN South Africa, this collector piece is an absolute stunner, featuring premium materials and intricate artwork that will undoubtedly appeal to dedicated bibliophiles and long-time fans.
Of course, that level of craftsmanship comes with a price tag that will likely make most readers pause. The publisher has set the cost at an eye-watering $2,200, placing it firmly in the realm of high-end collector luxury rather than an accessible read for the average community member. Naturally, the milestone has also reignited the familiar community conversation surrounding the long-awaited release of The Winds of Winter, reminding everyone just how much time has passed since the journey first began.
While dropping thousands on a single bookshelf centerpiece is a tough sell for most gamers and readers, physical collector editions remain a fascinating corner of fandom culture. They sit right alongside our digital battle passes, rare weapon skins, and limited-run console bundles as tangible tokens of our favorite worlds. For those with deep pockets and a relentless love for the Seven Kingdoms, this anniversary release is the ultimate display piece, even if the rest of us will just keep waiting for the next book.
