A new gameplay trailer for Garfield - Escape From Monday reveals a surreal 3D platformer where Garfield must survive a nightmare filled with vegetables after eating a cursed spinach lasagna.
Garfield is facing his ultimate nightmare, and it has nothing to do with Mondays being twenty-four hours long. IGN South Africa recently debuted an exclusive gameplay trailer for Garfield - Escape From Monday, showcasing a surreal 3D platforming adventure driven by a cursed meal. After eating a fateful dish of spinach lasagna cooked up via Chef Monday's recipe, everyone's favorite lazy orange cat falls into a deep sleep and finds his junk food paradise corrupted by healthy vegetables.
Players will guide Garfield through this fever dream with the help of familiar faces like Jon, Odie, Arlene, and Pookie, while dodging classic troublemakers such as Nermal and Squeak. Surviving the produce onslaught will require more than just a big appetite. Garfield can suit up in three special costumes that grant distinct traversal abilities, including a Turkey outfit for airborne movement, a Surfer suit for water gliding, and a Cowboy getup equipped with a lasso for swinging across gaps.
For a character historically known for simple tie-in games, this 3D platformer is shaping up to be a surprisingly ambitious project for fans of retro mascot platformers. It leans into bizarre humor while delivering actual gameplay variety through its costume mechanics. You can check out the original breakdown and trailer over at IGN South Africa to see how Garfield handles a world completely devoid of carbs.
