FromSoftware Details Full Launch Roster and Beta Characters for The Duskbloods

FromSoftware has revealed the initial character roster for its upcoming multiplayer Soulslike, The Duskbloods, detailing six playable fighters ahead of the Nintendo Switch 2 network test.

FromSoftware is shaking up its signature formula with The Duskbloods, marking the legendary developer's first original title built specifically for the Nintendo Switch 2. Rather than the open-world custom builds seen in Elden Ring, this multiplayer-focused spin on Souls-style combat introduces a roster of prebuilt fighters known as Bloodsworn, each equipped with distinct weapons, passive traits, and signature abilities. The upcoming network test will drop players straight into the action with six initial characters to master.

The initial network test roster spans a wildly creative mix of playstyles. Players can pick up the fundamentals with Albert, a classic all-rounder wielding a saber and submachine gun, or test their aggression with Bloodhound Jan, who pairs a health-stealing battle ax with a built-in hand flame projector. Speed enthusiasts will lean toward Trang Lanh and her cold-silver chakram, while mummified sniper Layla brings insect teleportation and a chest-mounted Gatling gun to the fight. Rounding out the initial six are Senator Samir Patres, who can temporarily transform into a carnivorous dinosaur, and Zork, a heavy-hitter whose jetpack-powered diving suit lets him rocket across maps.

FromSoftware has confirmed that the final release will feature a dozen or more playable Bloodsworn, leaving plenty of room for expansion beyond the initial network test lineup. With hardware optimization tailored for Nintendo's new console and a fresh multiplayer framework, this project represents a major pivot for a studio best known for solitary, atmospheric campaigns. Players eager to test out the mechanics can check their eligibility now as the network test approaches.
