Shonen Jump hit Kagurabachi has revealed its first character trailer and visual for protagonist Chihiro Rokuhira, ahead of its April 2027 anime premiere by studio Cypic.
What started as an internet meme during its 2023 debut in Weekly Shonen Jump has officially evolved into one of the most anticipated anime adaptations on the horizon. Takeru Hokazono's manga Kagurabachi has officially crossed that vital threshold by revealing its first main character trailer and visual, giving fans a clear look at protagonist Chihiro Rokuhira in action. Known for its dark revenge narrative following a young swordsman hunting down the thieves who stole his late father's enchanted blades, the series has quietly built up a massive following with 11 compiled volumes and 4 million copies in circulation.
Studio Cypic, formerly known as CygamesPictures, is handling the production duties for the upcoming series slated for an April 2027 premiere. The studio has built a strong reputation through standout adaptations and ambitious originals, meaning the high octane swordplay is in capable hands. Industry veteran Tetsuya Takeuchi is stepping into the director's chair, with character designs managed by Keigo Sasaki and voice acting led by Taihi Kimura as Chihiro.
While the official broadcast is still a ways off, the production committee is taking a page out of the modern rollout playbook by hitting the road early. Fans attending events like Anime Expo in Los Angeles, Japan Expo Paris, AnimagiC in Germany, and Anime NYC will get an exclusive first look during the global tour, which features a screening of the premiere episode's opening 20 minutes.
