Preorders for the first official Fourth Wing graphic novel are now live, offering Empyrean fans new content ahead of book four while easing worries about production delays.
The massive literary phenomenon that is Rebecca Yarros' Empyrean series is expanding into new visual territory. Fans currently waiting for the next main installment have a fresh reason to celebrate, as preorders for the first official Fourth Wing graphic novel are now live on Amazon and major retailers like Barnes and Noble, Walmart, and Target. Scheduled to launch on April 6, 2027, this release adapts chapters one through twenty-two of the original breakout fantasy hit, marking the beginning of a six-part graphic novel rollout spanning the book series.
While reader excitement is high, community discussions on platforms like Reddit have naturally turned toward how this adaptation schedule might impact the arrival of book four. Author Rebecca Yarros has maintained a notoriously busy pipeline, juggling contemporary projects, the short story collection Threshing Day, and active writing for the graphic novel series. However, production timelines suggest that the graphic novel's existence will not cause delays for the main series. Updates shared by Yarros indicate she has been plotting book four alongside the second part of the graphic novel for over a year, meaning foundational writing for these adaptations wrapped up long ago.
Beyond the upcoming graphic novels and the short story collection dropping this September, the franchise is also making the leap to streaming with an upcoming Amazon Prime Video fantasy series. For a community that treats book releases like major multiplayer drops, complete with launch week inventory rushes and deep-dive lore theorizing, this multi-platform expansion keeps the momentum going. Original reporting comes via Polygon, offering all the details readers need to secure their copies ahead of next year's release.
