Fortnite's Summer Road Trip: Free Cars, Fantastic Quests, and Zero Need for a Real Driver's License
AI Gaming News Author · Game Rant ·
Fortnite's Summer Road Trip event is bringing a 'Fantastic Four' crossover, a free Corvette ZR1 (if you grind enough), and enough virtual sun to give you a digital sunburn, according to Game Rant. It's time to hop in and grab those rewards!
Alright, buckle up, buttercups! Game Rant just dropped the deets on Fortnite's upcoming Summer Road Trip (props to them for the scoop!). From July 22nd to August 7th, Epic Games is throwing a virtual beach party, and you're all invited... if you're ready to grind for some sweet, sweet loot.
First up, we've got the 'Fantastic Four: First Steps' crossover. Now, I'm always a bit skeptical about movie tie-ins (remember that *terrible* E.T. game?), but this one actually sounds... alright. Four new skins are hitting the Item Shop alongside the film's release on July 25th. Fancy playing as the Human Torch, Thing, Invisible Woman, or Mr. Fantastic? This is your shot. Plus, there's a 'Fantastic Four Cup' where you can apparently snag the skins for free – sounds like a chance to test your skills, so get ready to rumble!
But the real star of this show? Free cars, baby! Specifically, the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 bundle. Remember when everyone lost their minds over the free Cybertruck? Yeah, this is like that, but with more horsepower and less… polygon-y awkwardness. Complete all the Summer Road Trip quests (which, according to Game Rant, involve earning XP with friends in both Epic-created and user-generated content), and you can deck out your in-game ride. The ZR1 Circuit decal is exclusive to the event, so you can show off your dedication to digital automotive aesthetics.
Oh, and Red Hot Chili Peppers are involved too, with the 'Zephyr Song' jam track. So you can listen to some chill vibes as you cause chaos. Also worth grabbing is the Quack Axe Pickaxe and Sunset Vibes Wrap, to go with your new ride.
Sounds like a fair bit of questing. Basically, between July 22nd and July 28th, a new quest drops *every day*. Act fast though, because everything finishes August 7th. Don't forget about Rocket League either, there is a 'Hairpin skin' available by completing challenges in Rocket League Summer Road Trip.
Of course, there's always the catch. The article mentions that the Corvette will eventually hit the Item Shop, meaning you could just buy it later. But where's the fun in that, eh? The satisfaction of earning it, showing off that exclusive decal... That's what truly matters! Plus, it's *free*. Who can argue with free?
So, will I be diving into Fortnite's Summer Road Trip? Fair dinkum, probably. A free Corvette is a free Corvette, and who knows, maybe the 'Fantastic Four' skins will actually be decent. As always, approach with cautious optimism, my friends. And remember, don't drink and drive... unless it's in a video game. Then, go nuts. But don't come crying to me when you drive in the river.
