Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 introduces the Override Battle Pass on August 20, featuring iconic crossovers with Sonic the Hedgehog and Street Fighter.
Epic Games is leaning hard into cross-franchise nostalgia for the latest update to its battle royale powerhouse. IGN South Africa reports that the upcoming Override Battle Pass for Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 will feature iconic video game legends from both the Sonic the Hedgehog and Street Fighter universes. The new seasonal content launches on August 20, bringing fresh cosmetics and character skins for players to grind out across console, PC, and mobile.
The reveal trailer, produced in collaboration with animation studio 64 Bits, gives fans a clear look at what to expect from the progression track. As battle passes continue to serve as the primary engine for seasonal engagement in modern live-service games, leaning on recognizable crossover appeal remains a proven strategy for keeping community interest high.
For regular players, this means another chance to spend V-Bucks on cosmetic flexing while dropping onto the island. Whether these crossovers match the cultural footprint of previous Marvel or Star Wars seasons remains to be seen, but the addition of classic gaming royalty is a sharp nod to long-time players who grew up in the arcade and console eras.
