Former BioWare Vets Lift the Veil on Supernatural Detective Thriller The Eventide

Former BioWare developers have fully revealed The Eventide, a supernatural detective game featuring multi-agent investigations, word-based deduction inspired by The Case of the Golden Idol, and a distinct watercolor aesthetic.
Studio Reset, an indie team founded by veterans of the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series, has officially pulled back the curtain on its debut project. Titled The Eventide, the game blends a moody neon-noir aesthetic with paranormal investigation, drawing clear inspiration from genre favorites like The Case of the Golden Idol while injecting a heavy dose of X-Files style atmosphere. Players step into the shoes of the Eventide Agency, tackling strange cases across a Canadian city where the laws of reality frequently break down.
The standout mechanic is what the developers call Parallax Deduction. Instead of relying on a single protagonist, players choose a team of two investigators from a diverse roster for each case, and each agent interprets evidence through their own unique lens. Eve approaches supernatural events through biology and material systems, former police officer Brass focuses on social dynamics, and Kira utilizes direct psychic abilities. This setup means that the conclusions you reach are filtered through the personal biases and specialized skills of the detectives you send into the field.
Visually, the game adopts a striking style that marries modern fixed-camera 3D exploration with painterly, watercolor textures, giving it a distinctive look that stands out in the current indie landscape. While Studio Reset has not yet announced a firm release date, the title is currently live on Steam for wishlisting. You can read the original report over at Rock Paper Shotgun.
