Fool's Theory Maps Out Letten Ahead of The Witcher 3 Expansion

Fool's Theory detailed the geographic location of Letten, the setting for the upcoming Witcher 3 expansion Songs of the Past, placing it near the region designated for The Witcher 4.

During Gamescom, developer Fool's Theory and CD Projekt Red pulled back the curtain on Songs of the Past, the upcoming expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. World director Peter Gelencser revealed the exact geographic coordinates of Letten, the idyllic northern birthplace of everyone's favorite bard, Dandelion. Situated in northern Redania near the Gulf of Praxeda, the region places players relatively close to Kovir, which happens to be the confirmed setting for the upcoming Witcher 4.

According to vision director Karolina Kuzia-Rokosz, the story kicks off immediately after the events of Blood and Wine, interrupting Geralt's peaceful retirement at Corvo Bianco. Players can expect a picturesque Polish countryside setting during the spring Belleteyn festival, though the team promises a darker underbelly lurking beneath the blooming visuals. Alongside the expansion, CDPR announced a comprehensive remaster of The Witcher 3 featuring long-awaited gameplay and combat overhauls, cementing the modern relevance of the franchise across current-gen hardware including PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and the rumored Switch 2 when it launches next year. Eurogamer originally reported these details from the Gamescom streams, giving fans plenty to parse as we look toward the next era of the series.
