Set footage from Amazon's live-action Tomb Raider series gives fans their first look at Sigourney Weaver as Evelyn Wallis alongside star Sophie Turner, building anticipation for the upcoming adaptation.
Production on Amazon's live action Tomb Raider series is currently moving full speed ahead in the UK, and the latest on location footage has given us our first look at sci fi royalty on set. Captured over the weekend in London, new clips and images show Alien and Avatar star Sigourney Weaver in character as Evelyn Wallis. While the brief snippets do not give away major plot details, Weaver's sharp business attire and commanding roadside presence are already radiating serious antagonist energy, fitting the description of a high flying figure looking to exploit Lara Croft's unique talents.
Weaver is joining a powerhouse cast for the ambitious adaptation. Sophie Turner is stepping into the iconic role of Lara Croft, sporting an ensemble directly inspired by the classic nineties games, with Turner recently describing her take on the character as unashamedly capable. The ensemble also includes Jason Isaacs as Lara's Uncle Atlas, Martin Bobb-Semple as Zip, Bill Paterson as Winston, and Celia Imrie as Francine. Behind the camera, the creative direction is equally notable, with Phoebe Waller Bridge serving as creator, writer, and executive producer alongside co showrunner Chad Hodge and director Jonathan Van Tulleken.
This major live action project highlights how prestige television continues to lean into high profile gaming adaptations, building expansive worlds that appeal to both longtime fans and a broader streaming audience. Production recently resumed following a brief pause due to an injury sustained by Turner on set, keeping anticipation high as filming continues across London locations. Amazon has not yet announced an official release date for the series, but the steady stream of set photos and casting reveals keeps momentum building across gaming and entertainment communities.
