Square Enix revealed that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 is officially titled Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, dropping a 2027 release window and new gameplay details at Summer Game Fest.
The final chapter of Square Enix's massive remake trilogy finally has a proper name and a target window. As reported by Polygon, the studio used the Summer Game Fest stream to debut the first deep-dive trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, which is scheduled to launch in 2027. The showcase delivered a packed lineup of heavy hitters, but the first gameplay footage from Revelation quickly became one of the biggest talking points for players tuning in across console and PC.
The new trailer offered a clear look at what to expect when the party regroups for the final leg of the journey. Players will finally get to pilot the Highwind airship across the open world, featuring a seamless transition system that lets you leap straight out of the cockpit and parachute down to the surface wherever you choose. Director Naoki Hamaguchi and his team are also opening up new territory on the Planet, including the much-anticipated arrival in Wutai, alongside classic endgame boss battles against the colossal Weapons.
Combat and party composition are seeing major expansions as well. Voice actor Matt Mercer joined the Summer Game Fest stage to confirm that the combat mechanics from Remake and Rebirth have been refined even further. Vincent Valentine steps up as a fully playable party member utilizing long-range rifle attacks, while Cid joins the active roster with his signature spear. For a community that treats these sprawling single-player epics as major social and streaming events, Revelation is shaping up to be a massive community milestone when it drops in 2027.
