Final Fantasy 14 Drops Patch 7.38 Alongside North American Server Stabilization Efforts

Final Fantasy 14 has rolled out Patch 7.38, removing Savage raid loot limits and adding new weapon upgrade paths, even as North American servers grapple with ongoing DDoS attacks.
Square Enix has deployed Patch 7.38 for Final Fantasy 14 across all supported platforms, delivering major quality of life adjustments for endgame raiders while the development team continues to address ongoing server stability issues. Originally detailed by James Ratcliff over at Game Rant, the new update arrives right as North American players on the Aether, Primal, Crystal, and Dynamis data centers navigate persistent distributed denial of service attacks. These unexpected disconnections have caused frustrating rollbacks and lost progress for players tackling demanding content like the Pilgrim's Traverse deep dungeon, though European, Japanese, and Oceanian servers remain unaffected.
Beyond the server turbulence, Patch 7.38 brings welcome changes to gear acquisition and raid progression. The update completely removes the weekly loot restrictions for the Arcadion AAC Cruiserweight Tier Savage raids. Static groups and pug teams can now farm the tier as much as they want, and players can bypass sequential clears to jump straight into specific encounters, including the showdown with the cruiserweight champion, Howling Blade. For players engaging with casual or alliance content, the patch introduces a new exchange route for Historia weapons by trading Ordelle and Montiont coins from the Echoes of Vana'diel raids for an Evercharged Ester.
Social spaces and virtual real estate also get a small nod in this patch with the addition of the Legends of Ivalice poster, a new housing item dropping directly from the Return to Ivalice alliance raids featuring key art from Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles. While the shadow of server instability has cast a complicated mood over the community this month, these targeted progression updates give active subscribers plenty of reasons to dive back in.
