Polygon details the latest FFXIV Live Letter, revealing the upcoming Beastmaster limited job, major dye and armoire inventory overhauls, and housing updates arriving in the patch 7.5 series starting April 28.
Square Enix just pulled back the curtain on the upcoming patch 7.5 series for Final Fantasy XIV during the latest Live Letter broadcast, bringing major quality of life improvements alongside a fan favorite class. As reported by Polygon, the patch rollout kicks off on April 28 and runs through September, bringing the debut of the Beastmaster limited job. Players who have completed the A Realm Reborn main scenario will be able to unlock the class at level one, tracking down and weakening monsters in the wild to add up to fifty creatures to their starting bestiary. Producer Naoki Yoshida also teased a solo nurture mode called Crucible of the Unbroken, though a specific patch release date within the 7.5 series is still under wraps. Of course, bringing the Beastmaster to life meant some schedule shuffling, so fans of the Blue Mage will have to wait a bit longer for their next update.
Beyond combat additions, the patch series is finally tackling some of the most persistent inventory headaches that plague veteran players. Square Enix is completely overhauling the dye system by consolidating individual color items into three main categories, meaning you will no longer need to sacrifice precious bag space for every single shade. Old dyes sitting in your inventory can be traded in at any Calamity salvager for the new format. On top of that, armoire storage is finally expanding to accept Dawntrail dungeon gear and Artifact gear, giving players a much needed break from hoarding everything across multiple retainers. Housing enthusiasts also get a win with raised item limits indoors and outdoors, plus a new display priority setting to keep frame rates stable when visiting packed neighborhoods.
These updates arrive at a crucial time for a community that treats FFXIV as a primary social hub and virtual home. Managing storage, glamours, and housing spaces has always been a core part of the endgame grind, and these quality of life sweeps directly address years of player feedback. Square Enix plans to share even more details on the upcoming content roadmap during the FFXIV Fan Fest in Anaheim on April 24 and 25, giving us a clearer picture of what to expect before the patch cycle begins.
