Tiny Onion and Image Comics are expanding the Exquisite Corpses universe with a new spin-off miniseries titled Fox Mask Killer, launching this September.
The horror anthology space in comics continues to evolve, and James Tynion IV and Michael Walsh are expanding their shared universe in a major way. Following the success of the main Exquisite Corpses series and its recently funded Kickstarter card game, Tiny Onion and Image Comics are greenlighting a spin-off. IGN recently debuted an exclusive preview of Exquisite Corpses: Fox Mask Killer #1, giving fans a look at the hyper-violent art style and brutal world-building coming this fall.
Writer Che Grayson and artist Adam Gorham are reuniting to explore the tragic backstory of the series most emblematic assassin. The narrative centers on a top-tier contract killer who desperately wants out of the underworld, leading her into a dangerous pact. Grayson noted that building emotional depth around a character whose face is permanently obscured by a mask was a unique creative challenge, promising high stakes and intense emotional resonance when the first issue drops on September 16.
For readers who track creator-owned books and cross-media expansions, Tiny Onion is proving how modern comic franchises can build sustainable momentum through diverse formats. Between physical issues, crowdfunding initiatives, and collaborative rotating creative teams, the project reflects a smart playbook for modern indie storytelling. Keep an eye on local comic shops ahead of the final order cutoff on August 24 if you want to secure a copy.
