Nintendo's latest Direct detailed a massive wave of Switch 2 games, featuring release dates for Final Fantasy Resonance, The Witcher 3 Remastered, and new Level-5 projects.
Nintendo kept the momentum rolling right after its anniversary celebrations with a packed forty-five minute Direct focused on winter and early next year releases for the Switch 2. Major heavyweights like Monster Hunter Wilds are officially landing on the hardware this December alongside its Ascendance expansion arriving next year, proving that portable heavy hitters are getting the current gen treatment players have been asking for. RPG fans also got solid dates, including Final Fantasy Resonance hitting the console on April 8 and Crisis Core Reunion dropping later today.
The showcase leaned heavily into enhanced editions and fan favorites making the jump to Nintendo's new ecosystem. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is getting a Definitive Edition with sixty frames per second support and a brutal new Calamity mode on February 25, complete with digital upgrade discounts for existing players. Meanwhile, CD Projekt's revamped version of The Witcher 3 brings mouse support, gyro aiming, and touchscreen controls on September 29, paving the way for the brand-new Songs of the Past expansion next year.
Level-5 made some noise with long-awaited updates, confirming that Professor Layton and the New World of Steam finally locks in a December 10 release date alongside a surprise announcement for Yo-Kai Watch 2: Haunted Domain. On the first-party front, Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave holds its September 17 launch, and Pikmin 4 is getting a dedicated Switch 2 Edition featuring built-in microphone voice commands for Oatchi and a competitive Dandori Academy mode when it arrives on November 12.
Players diving into multiplayer will also see fresh content, including a free four-player split-screen update for the recent Star Fox remake on September 30, plus the addition of Star Fox Adventures to the Nintendo Classics library today. As third-party heavy hitters like Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 line up for next year, the hardware lineup is shaping up to be a diverse ecosystem for both casual sessions and deep cross-platform progression.
