Epic Games Store has announced that Astral Ascent and Luftrausers will be its next free weekly games starting September 10.
The Epic Games Store has officially pulled back the curtain on its next batch of free titles, lining up Astral Ascent and Luftrausers to replace Alone With You. Scheduled to drop on September 10, this upcoming promotion marks the platform's first dual giveaway since August. While both games have been around for a while, this drop serves as their official debut on the Epic launcher, bringing a combined value of nearly thirty five dollars straight to player libraries with no subscription required.
Headlining the update is Astral Ascent, a celebrated 2D action platformer roguelite developed by Hibernian Workshop. Set inside a sprawling astral prison guarded by twelve zodiac bosses, the game lets players choose from four distinct heroes and combine dozens of spells during escape runs, supporting both solo play and local co-op. It holds an impressive reputation on PC, sporting an overwhelmingly positive rating on Steam and strong critical scores that make it a standout addition to any digital collection.
Joining it is Luftrausers, the classic arcade shooter from Vlambeer and publisher Devolver Digital. Though the game is over a decade old, its frantic dogfighting and deep aircraft customization have aged remarkably well. Neither title has ever been offered as a permanent freebie in this manner before, making this upcoming window an easy win for anyone looking to expand their backlog without touching their wallet.
Players have until September 10 to grab the current offering before this new duo takes over through September 17. As digital storefronts continue competing for weekly active users, these curated drops remain one of the best ways to discover indie gems that might have slipped past your radar on Steam or console marketplaces.
