The Epic Games Store has revealed its latest mystery freebies, offering the cozy cat cafe simulator Calico and the tactical sci-fi deckbuilder Lonestar to PC players at no cost until June 4.
The Epic Games Store is keeping up its streak of surprise giveaways, bypassing the usual one week advance notice for its latest batch of free PC titles. Players who log into the platform can now claim both Calico and Lonestar at zero cost, adding a couple of community favorites to their digital libraries without spending a dime. Both titles carry strong player sentiment on Steam, making this a worthwhile addition for anyone looking to expand their backlog.
Calico leans heavily into the cozy simulation space, tasking players with rebuilding a local cat cafe through interior decoration and customization. The game features fully interactive animals that you can name, play with, and even carry around on your head, which explains its impressive tally of nearly 2,700 very positive reviews on Steam. If management sims and animal companionship sound like your ideal way to unwind after a long grinding session, this one is an easy recommendation.
On the other side of the genre spectrum, Lonestar offers a tactical roguelike deckbuilder experience for players who prefer a bit of sci-fi strategy. You step into the boots of a spacefaring bounty hunter, command a customizable starship, and hunt down targets across the galaxy using different pilots. Both games are available to claim right now on the Epic Games Store, but you only have until June 4 at 11 a.m. EDT to secure them for your permanent collection, as reported by Polygon.
