Epic Games Store has announced Breathedge and Rival Stars Horse Racing as its final free game offerings for August 2026. Both titles will be available to claim from August 27 to September 3.
As August winds down, the Epic Games Store has officially pulled back the curtain on its final two free games for the month. Starting on August 27, PC players can claim Breathedge and Rival Stars Horse Racing: Desktop Edition at zero cost. This pairing wraps up a busy month of promotions that pushed the total value of Epic's August giveaways past the two hundred dollar mark, offering a strong lineup for players looking to expand their libraries without opening their wallets.
Breathedge, developed by RedRuins Softworks, brings a dose of dark sci-fi comedy to the survival genre. Players scavenge zero gravity wreckage, craft essential gear, and build bases while uncovering the mystery behind a massive space disaster. While the game previously made appearances on Epic's freebie roster back in 2023, its return gives a fresh wave of players a chance to dive into its open world. Alongside it, PikPok's Rival Stars Horse Racing makes its storefront debut, bringing comprehensive stable management, breeding mechanics, and online multiplayer to the platform.
These upcoming titles follow a steady stream of weekly drops that included indie hits like Cardpocalypse, Beacon Pines, and Caravan SandWitch. For a cross-platform audience juggling battle passes and subscription services, these weekly rotations remain a reliable way to pick up notable indies and hidden gems. Players have until September 3 to claim both Breathedge and Rival Stars Horse Racing before they return to their standard retail pricing.
