Fortnite's Hot Bat Summer event is officially live, bringing revealing DC Comics swimsuit skins for Batman, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy alongside themed quests, a new Bat Cave POI, and special weekend Shiny Hours.
Fortnite is leaning hard into seasonal aesthetics with its latest crossover, bringing a surprisingly spicy lineup of DC Comics outfits to the item shop. As reported by Polygon, the Hot Bat Summer event introduces four new character skins inspired by classic summer swimsuit variants from DC history, including Coastal Catwoman, High Tide Harley, Chlorophyll Ivy, and Beach Bod Batman. Despite early rumors that Epic Games might tone down the designs following their initial reveal, the final in-game cosmetics arrived completely intact, offering players a distinctly sun-soaked take on Gotham City's most iconic heroes and villains.
Alongside the new outfits, the update introduces fresh map elements and mechanics designed to shake up standard battle royale matches. Players can now explore a brand new Bat Cave POI, cruise around the island in the Batman Beach Buggy, and utilize the mobility of the returning Batman Grapnel Gun. Epic is also running a dedicated questline that rewards participants with thematic gear like the Caped Cooler-sader Pickaxe and the Zap-brella Glider, alongside new Batman Sprites that grant tactical advantages like midair cape deployment.
To keep engagement high through the weekend, Epic has scheduled special Shiny Hours where match parameters shift to boost loot rarity and grant all players immediate access to high-tier mobility tools and self-revives. It is a smart play for a live service title that relies on continuous cultural moments to keep its massive cross-platform community logging in daily. For players looking to shake up their locker loadouts before the next major seasonal shift, these summer variants deliver plenty of personality. You can read the original coverage over at Polygon.
