Elden Ring Tarnished Edition is heading to Nintendo Switch 2 on August 28, 2026, featuring new starting classes, weapon additions, and Torrent armor skins, with the new content also releasing on other platforms via the Tarnished Pack DLC.
FromSoftware is bringing its modern masterpiece to Nintendo hardware, announcing that Elden Ring Tarnished Edition will launch on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 on August 28, 2026. Priced at $79.99, the comprehensive package bundles the base game and the massive Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. For players already roaming the Lands Between on other platforms, the new content arriving with this release will also be available on the same day as a standalone purchase called the Tarnished Pack DLC, ensuring no one misses out on the updates.
Beyond just packaging existing content for a new platform, the Tarnished Edition introduces fresh gameplay additions that will tempt even veteran players back into the fray. The bundle includes two brand-new starting classes and long-awaited cosmetic options that finally let players customize their faithful spectral steed, Torrent, with various armor skins. Alongside these visual upgrades, the package throws in a selection of new weapons to experiment with during your next playthrough, giving the community plenty of new build options to test out.
This release strategy highlights how developers are approaching new hardware generations while keeping existing player bases unified. Instead of locking new gear and class options exclusively to a brand-new platform, making the add-ons available across PC and consoles on day one keeps the community engaged together. According to the original report by IGN South Africa, the August release date gives players just enough time to clear their schedules before the autumn game rush kicks into full gear.
