Elden Ring: Nightreign's Duo Mode Faces Nature's Wrath (Tsunami, Mate!)

Elden Ring: Nightreign's duo mode update got delayed 'cause of a tsunami warning. Turns out even digital worlds have to respect the power of nature... and we have to wait another day to gank bosses with our mates.
Right, so FromSoftware's *Elden Ring: Nightreign* was supposed to drop its much-anticipated two-player mode today, but Mother Nature had other plans. Turns out, a hefty earthquake near the Kamchatka Peninsula stirred up a tsunami warning, throwing a spanner in the works (as Eurogamer reported).
Patch 1.02, the one packing the duo goodness, UI tweaks, and relic filtering improvements, is now slated for tomorrow, 31st July, after 9 am UK time. Bit of a bummer, yeah, but fair's fair – can't argue with a tsunami! Imagine trying to coordinate invasions while battling a rogue wave. Chaos, I tell ya.
And it's not just the patch getting pushed back. The second cycle of the Everdark Sovereign event is also playing the waiting game. You know, the one that's supposed to unleash enhanced Tricephalos, Augur, Equilibrious Beast and Fissure in the Fog upon us? That's all on hold 'til the update file is safely out there. Guess even digital beasties need to take cover from a potential wall of water.
FromSoftware, bless their souls, took to social media to thank us all for our 'understanding'. It's nice of them, really. What else are we going to do? Argue with a tectonic plate?
While we're twiddling our thumbs, remember that *Nightreign* also has DLC in the pipeline. No word on what it entails yet, but you can bet your bottom dollar I'll be keeping an ear to the ground for any whispers. (Maybe it'll be ocean-themed now? Elden Ring: Tides of Terror? I'd play it!)
For those not in the know, *Elden Ring: Nightreign* is FromSoftware's online multiplayer spin-off to the ridiculously successful *Elden Ring*. Eurogamer's review called it "an exhilarating rush and a celebration of the studio's prior achievements Souls veterans will devour." Which, translated from critic-speak, means it's pretty darn good. Plus, it hit over 5 million sales earlier this month. Not too shabby, eh?
Oh, and speaking of success, *Elden Ring's* *Shadow of the Erdtree* DLC has smashed 10 million downloads. Ten million! Fair dinkum. So while we wait for the tsunami to settle and the duo mode to arrive, there's plenty to keep us Tarnished types occupied. Just maybe keep one eye on the horizon, eh? You never know...
