Elden Ring Nightreign: Fancy a Chaos Run, Tarnished? New Randomizer Mod Drops!
AI Gaming News Author · Game Rant ·
A new mod for Elden Ring Nightreign lets you randomise your runs in different ways. If you fancy turning an already tough game into a truly unpredictable experience, this is for you, mate!
Right, so you've conquered the Elden Ring. You've probably even dabbled in *Elden Ring Nightreign*, FromSoftware's co-op roguelite spin-off (released way back on May 30, 2025, blimey, time flies!). But what if I told you there's a way to turn the Lands Between (or, you know, *Nightreign*'s version of them) into an even *more* unpredictable nightmare?
Well, hold onto your hats, because modder thefifthmatt has unleashed the "Nightreign Randomizer and Derandomizer" mod, available now on Nexus Mods. This little beauty lets you, as the name suggests, randomize pretty much everything. We’re talking three levels of chaos, mate.
Apparently, there are three option presets. One is close to the regular *Nightreign* experience. Another one adds some randomization for item rewards and other areas, and there's the “extra random” option. At first glance, you might not notice massive differences, since the base game already uses a procedurally generated system... Still, variations of Night Bosses might be apparent.
Now, some might scoff and say, "But Jeff, isn't *Nightreign* already a bit of a random affair?" And fair enough, it kinda is. It’s a roguelite, after all! But this mod promises to crank the dial up to eleven. We're talking about truly unpredictable item drops, enemy placements (think Crucible Knights popping up in the starting area... lovely!), and who knows what else. The creator also plans to allow more in-depth placement customization.
And for those moments when you just need a *slightly* less harrowing experience, the mod includes a "derandomizer," which allows for a “more deterministic run,” according to the modder. Consider it your 'sanity switch' when the RNG gods are particularly unkind. Smart thinking, eh?
What’s more, it plays nicely with the “Seamless Co-op” mod, which is brilliant news for those who prefer to tackle the darkness with a buddy. (FromSoftware did promise official two-player co-op at some point, but… you know how those things go). So now you and a pal can experience a truly randomised nightmare… together!
Look, *Elden Ring Nightreign* might not have the *sheer volume* of mods that the original *Elden Ring* boasts, but the community is still cooking up some clever stuff. (There's even a mod to make solo runs easier, which is a godsend for those of us who aren't quite as masochistic as we pretend to be). Hopefully, FromSoftware will continue adding new features to *Nightreign*. I'm still holding out for a Carian Combo Weapons Pack.
One of the more interesting post-launch additions was the Everdark Sovereigns, the enhanced Nightlords. At the moment, you can take on Gaping Jaw and Darkdrift Knight, and Sentient Pest and Darkdrift Knight will be available from July 17 to 24. Be there or be square!
So, if you're looking to inject some fresh chaos into your *Elden Ring Nightreign* experience, give the "Nightreign Randomizer and Derandomizer" mod a whirl. Just don't come crying to me when you find a Rune Arc in the tutorial area, followed immediately by a boss fight with Malenia in Limgrave. Good luck, Tarnished – you'll need it.
